
Grizzlies sweep Mavericks for sixth straight win

The Gateway Grizzlies (41-40) continued their march towards the playoffs Wednesday night defeating the Mid-Missouri Mavericks (25-53) 9-2 to complete their second sweep. The win is the Grizzlies sixth in a row. They now sit just a single game back of Rockford for the wild card spot in the West Division. They are just two games back of first-place Kalamazoo.
Erik Dessau (5-4) went eight innings in the win. He gave up two runs on five hits. He struck out two.
Mike Breyman was 2-4 with with three RBIs and a long home run that easily cleared the second wall in right field. Phil Warren was 2-4 with a pair of RBIs Gary Gilbert was 2-4 with an RBI. Ben Margalski was 3-4 with an RBI.
The Grizzlies now head to Rockford for a series of five games in three days. The Grizzlies and RiverHawks are making up games lost to weather earlier this month.
