Las Vegas Wranglers News Release

West Valley City, Utah - The Las Vegas Wranglers fell 3-2 to the Utah Grizzlies tonight, splitting the two-game series after taking last night's game in a shootout.

Utah posted the first goal of the game midway through the first period as Grizzlies forward Mathieu Aubin scored at the 12:22 mark. On a power play opportunity five minutes later, Wranglers center John Armstrong tied the game with his sixth goal of the season, making it 1-1 at the end of the opening period.

Another power play goal 7:46 into the second gave the Wranglers their first lead of the night off the stick of left wing Adam Hughesman. Utah's Aubin answered with his second goal of the game on a power play 61 seconds later. The 2-2 score carried over into the third, and an early power play goal from Grizzlies defenseman Teigan Zahn put Utah up 3-2. Unable to knot the game, the Wranglers lost the one-goal game despite pulling goalie Mitch O'Keefe for the man advantage.

The Wranglers continue their road stretch with a game against the Bakersfield Condors on Saturday, Jan. 11. The team then heads to Alaska for three contests starting Wednesday, Jan. 15.
