Tonight's Matchup: The San Francisco Bulls (12-17-4-1) begin a three-in-three weekend series against the Alaska Aces (19-9-1-1), tonight, at the Cow Palace. This is the third of 12 meetings between these squads this season. This is their first matchup since the opening series of the season, where they split the two games in Alaska.

Last Sunday, the Bulls traveled to Ontario, California, to take on the Reign. They came away with a point after losing, 3-2, in overtime. Luke Judson and Berkley Scott scored the two tallies for San Francisco. Collin Bowman, Dale Mitchell, and Scott Langdon each had an assist. Tyler Beskorowany made 31 saves.

The Bulls will be returning home with several new faces in the lineup after a roster shakeup during the week. First, it was announced that standout forward Tyler Gron had earned an AHL call-up with the Worcester Sharks. Gron is the second AHL call-up in less than a week for San Francisco, joining Adrian Foster, who is still with the Abbotsford Heat. Mark Lee also departs, after signing a tryout agreement with the Schwenniger Wild Wings of the German Elite League.

To fill the void, the Bulls have received some reinforcements. Sebastian Stalberg and Riley Brace, a pair of forwards from Worcester, have both been assigned to San Francisco. In addition, the Bulls acquired forward Ryan Flanigan from the Toledo Walleye for Aaron Clarke, who the Bulls had acquired from the Kalamazoo Wings for the rights to defenseman Josh Kidd. Finally, San Francisco also completed a trade for goaltender Alex Kangas from Alaska, for future considerations.

Stalberg, 23, is in his second year of professional hockey. He has five points (1g, 4a) in 23 games in Worcester this season. Brace, 21, had a brief two-game stint with the Bulls earlier this year. He has three assists in 24 games for Worcester. Flanigan, 25, has compiled six points (2g, 4a), in 17 games between Wheeling and Toledo. Lastly, Kangas, 26, had an 0-1-2 record with the Aces.

Alaska comes to town sporting the third best record in the Western Conference. They are headlined by a familiar face, former Bulls forward, Peter Sivak, who was San Francisco's goal and point leader last season. He's having another strong campaign for the Aces. He leads the team in assists (21), and points (30).

San Francisco is tied with the Utah Grizzlies for sixth place in the Western Conference with 29 points. They are two points in front of the Bakersfield Condors. Alaska is in third place in the Western Conference with 40 points. They are two points ahead of the Stockton Thunder and Idaho Steelheads, and one point behind the Colorado Eagles.

Tonight the Bulls are celebrating their first Thirsty Thursday of the season. At select concessions, 12-ounce draft domestic beer is half off.

Tomorrow San Francisco is back in action for game two of this three game series with Alaska. The Bulls will be hosting their second annual Scout Night. The game begins at 7:30.
