Grizzlies Open Preseason Friday In Logan

West Valley City, Utah – The Utah Grizzlies open their preseason schedule Friday in Logan when they will take on the Idaho Steelheads at 7 p.m. at the Eccles Ice Center.

Tickets for the game are available for $7 at www.utahgrizzlies.com or through the rink in Logan.

The Grizzlies will then travel to McCall, Idaho Saturday for another round with the Steelheads at the Manchester Ice and Events Centre. It will be Utah's second-ever trip to McCall. They first visited the Steelheads October 13, 2005 in a preseason bout in the city.

Details

Logan, Utah, the home of Utah State University, is approximately 90 miles north of the E-Center and Salt Lake City.

McCall, Idaho is a resort town approximately 100 miles north of the Qwest Arena in Boise.

Logan and McCall are approximately a six and a half hour drive apart from each other.

The Grizzlies open the 2009-2010 regular season Friday, October 16 in Las Vegas with the home opening E-Center weekend being Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24 when they will host Idaho.

Utah enters their fifth year in the ECHL and their third-straight season as an affiliate of the New York Islanders. On September 16, 2009 the Grizzlies announced that they will also be adding up to four prospects this season from the Calgary Flames. Head Coach Kevin Colley returns to the Utah bench this upcoming season after signing a multi-year contract extension on April 20, 2009. Colley, who at the age of 30 is the youngest coach in the ECHL, led the Grizzlies to the playoffs for the third time in four years during his rookie head coaching campaign.
