
Jersey Auction Begins Tonight for Preseason Game

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, a two-time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," has announced a preseason game worn jersey silent auction is scheduled to begin with tonight's preseason home game against the Bakersfield Condors, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Stockton Arena.
The gold and white jerseys, which will be worn for both preseason games against Bakersfield on tonight and Saturday at Rabobank Arena, have been worn by the Thunder throughout preseason training camp. Each jersey features the player's nameplate and the team's familiar numbering style placed on the back of the jersey.
Each jersey, which will be available for bidding tonight and at "FanFest" on Sunday at Stockton Arena, will start at $75 for a minimum bid.
The Thunder return to the ice for preseason play tonight against the Bakersfield Condors, starting at 7:00 p.m. at Stockton Arena. Tickets for the game (open seating) are on sale at $10 for the general public and $5 for current Thunder Season Ticket Holders and are available by calling the Thunder at (209) 373-1500.
"FanFest" is Sunday, Oct. 11 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. and free of charge to the public.
The 2009-10 season, the Fifth Year Anniversary for the team, launches on Friday, Oct. 16 at Qwest Arena against the Idaho Steelheads at 6:10 p.m. and the Thunder home opener is Friday, Oct. 23 against the Ontario Reign at 7:30 p.m. at Stockton Arena.
The proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League and Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League, the Thunder was voted "Best Local Sports Team" by readers of the San Joaquin Magazine, has led the ECHL in attendance for four consecutive seasons and drew 223,854 fans to Stockton Arena in 2008-09. Season tickets for 2009-10 are on sale now.
