Grizzlies Lose 3-2 in Overtime

West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies forward Caleb Herbert scored a goal in his 6th straight game to tie the game at 2-2 in the third period but the Idaho Steelheads get an overtime goal from Brad McClure to win 3-2 at Maverik Center.

By forcing overtime, the Grizzlies have received a standings point in each of their first 6 games. Utah ended the weekend with 3 of 4 standings points against Idaho and 6 of 8 in the season series.

Idaho got on the scoreboard first as Joe Pendenza scored a power play goal 1:10 into the 2nd period to take a 1-0 lead. The Grizzlies tied up the game on the power play as Tim McGauley scored his 2nd goal of the season.

The Steelheads took a 2-1 lead on a Steve McParland goal 4:14 into the third period. McParland scored a goal in each game of the 2 game weekend series.

The Grizzlies tied up the game 5:41 into the third period as Herbert scored his 7th goal of the season. Herbert has 7 goals and 6 assists in 6 games this season.

It stayed 2-2 through after regulation. Idaho got all 4 shots of overtime, with the final shot hitting the back of the net on a Brad McClure shot to win the game for Idaho.

Joe Cannata stopped 26 of 29 shots for the Grizzlies. Philippe Desrosiers stopped 33 of 35 shots for Idaho.
