Swamp Rabbits Battle Stifled by IceMen on Sunday

Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release
GREENVILLE, S.C. - A bid to spoil Jacksonville's undefeated season on Sunday proved unsuccessful. The Icemen scored five unanswered goals, and the Greenville Swamp Rabbits could only punch home a late power play goal in a 5-1 loss at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena on Sunday afternoon.
Alexis D'Aoust picked up right where he left off for Jacksonville with his second consecutive three-point effort to pace the Icemen offense early in the game. He started with a helper on an Everett Clark tally to start the scoring at the 5:43 mark of the first, and went back-to-back with goals of his own, with his first of the game coming two minutes after Clark's goal, and his next in the second period on the power play.
Jack Glover and Cam Maclise rounded out the scoring for Jacksonville.
Greenville had six power play opportunities, and on their second-to-last one of the game, they hit paydirt. Michael Pelech and Trevor Owens connected on passes that found Austen Brassard lurking in the right circle. His shot evaded Tanner Jaillet and put Greenville on the board. It continued Pelech's and Brassard's point streaks to four games, and gave Owens points in three of the last four games.
Jacksonville's top line posted six points in the win, which continued right where they left off on Friday night. Garrett Bartus made 33 saves in the Sunday effort, his third start of the weekend.
As a result of the loss, the Swamp Rabbits were unsuccessful in picking up a standings point on home ice for the first time this season. The schedule, however, is ready to ramp up. Up next for Greenville is a trip to Norfolk to take on the Admirals on Wednesday, October 31 at 7:00.
