
Grizzlies hammer ThunderBolts in series finale

Scott Patterson pitched a gem, and the Grizzlies came out firing as Gateway hammered the Windy City ThunderBolts 14-7 in front of 4,476 Tuesday afternoon at GMC Stadium. The win improved the Grizzlies record to 36-27, and dropped the ThunderBolts to 32-28.
Grizzlie starter Scott Patterson (6-1) took the honors of player of the game as he picked up his sixth win of the season going seven innings, allowing five hits, two earned runs, one walk, and struck out eleven. Michael Golden tossed the final inning and struck out the side while allowing two hits.
The Grizzlies bats were popping Tuesday as Gateway tallied up 12 hits. Greg Stevens led the way for Gateway going 3-4 with three RBI's and three runs scored. Jeremiah Bergheger was also 3-4 with four runs scored. Phil Warren finished his day 3-3 and Mike Breyman was 1-4 with five RBI's, including a second inning grand slam.
The Grizzlies head to Springfield/Ozark Wednesday night for a 7:15 game.
