
Mid-Missouri Completes Sweep Of RiverHawks

Columbia, MOâ The last-place Mid-Missouri completed a sweep of the first-place Rockford RiverHawks with a 10-3 win.
Mid-Misssouri took the lead with a solo home run from Matt Oakes in the bottom of the second inning. Mid-Missouri added another run in the fourth inning to take a 2-0 lead.
The RiverHawks rallied to take the lead in the top of fifth inning. Dave Bernstine scored when Olmo Rosario reached on an error. Shaff Elkouri drove in two runs on a RBI single making the score 3-2.
Blake Blase tied the game for Mid-Missouri when he drove in a run on a single. Thomari Story-Harden gave the Mavericks the lead for good on a sacrifice fly.
Jason Wiedmeyer< (2-5) picked up the win for Mid-Missouri. Scott Sobkowiak (4-5) took the loss for the RiverHawks.
The RiverHawks head to O'Fallon, Mo. to take on the River City Rascals in a three-game series. The RiverHawks return to Marinelli Field on Saturday at 7:05 to take on the Windy City ThunderBolts.
