Gateway Grizzlies News Release

The Gateway Grizzlies dropped the series finale to the Cook County Cheetahs 1-0 Thursday in front of 3,591 at GMC Stadium. The Grizzlies are now 21-18, the Cheetahs are now 21-21.

David Campos threw a five-hit complete game shut out for the win.

The Grizzlies got good starting pitching as well. Adam Jahnsen went five innings giving up no runs on four hits. He struck out a career-high nine. Dave Klahs got the loss in relief. He went the final four innings, allowing a run on just two hits. He is now 1-3.

Despite the loss, the Grizzlies remain tied for first place in the Frontier League West Division. Because the Grizzlies are in first place, Danny Cox and the Grizzlies coaching staff will coach the West Division squad.

The Grizzlies head on the road to O'Fallon, MO to renew the Sonic Crosstown Clash Series with the Rascals. Wednesday's game time is 7:05.
