
Kalczynski's Ninth-Inning Hit Leads River City over Gateway

Joe Kalczynski's 2-run 9th inning hit secured a come from behind victory for the Rascals as they topped the Gateway Grizzlies 3-2 at T.R. Hughes Ballpark on Wednesday night.
The Rascals were also guided by seven shutout innings from starting pitcher E.J. Laretta, who exited the game with a 1-0 lead, but a pair of Gateway runs in the 8th off of winning pitcher Steve Soja (1-0) forced the Rascals to come from behind in the 9th.
THURSDAY IS BOTTLE BUDDY NIGHT!
The first 1,000 fans will receive Rascals Bottle Buddies courtesy of American National Insurance as the Rascals will look to tame the Grizzlies in a 7:05pm game. Dan Shouse will start for the Rascals against Joe Dooley.
FIVE RASCALS NAMED TO ALL-STAR TEAM
Brian Fuess, Corey Jager, Greg Modica, Wes Jaillet and Michael Conner were all named to the 2003 Frontier League Western Division All-Star team. The game will be played at GMC Stadium on July 16th at 7:00pm. Jaillet was added to the team on Wednesday by All-Star manager Danny Cox.
Fans wishing to attend the game may call the Grizzlies ticket office or purchase their seats at GMC Stadium.
Fans who are unable to attend the game will be able to view it on a tape delay basis in the St. Louis area on Fox Sports Midwest. Broadcast times are on Thursday July 17th at Noon and on Saturday July 19th at 7:00pm.
