SAUGET, Ill.- Former Grizzlie Stephen Holdren hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning Friday night to lead the River City Rascals to a 6-3 in the finale of a three-game series at GCS Ballpark. The loss came in front of 5,411 at GCS Ballpark.

River City (17-17) went up 3-0 with an unearned run in the third inning then two more runs in the sixth, against Grizzlies starter Tim Clubb. Clubb allowed the three runs, two earned, on four hits. He struck out five. He drops to 3-3 with the loss.

The Grizzlies (18-16) got on the board in the sixth inning with a pair of hits. Adam Eggemeyer singled with one out. Landon Hernandez then doubled into left field. It appeared that Eggemeyer scored on the play, but he was called back when it was ruled that a fan touched the ball. Eggemeyer scored on a sacrifice fly by Bobby Burk later in the inning.

The Grizzlies scored a pair of runs in the eighth on two hits. Logan Parker and Charlie Lisk each had RBIs in the inning.

Gateway managed just six hits against three River City pitchers. No player had more than a single hit. Ryan Zink (1-0) earned the win in his Frontier League debut. He allowed a run on four Grizzlies hits.

The Grizzlies head on the road Saturday to begin a six-game road trip. They begin a three-game series at Normal Saturday night. First pitch is set for 7:05 pm.
