San Francisco, California - The Utah Grizzlies defeated the San Francisco Bulls 5-3 Saturday night at Cow Palace.
Utah got the scoring started early and never looked back with two power-play goals and led 2-1 after one period. Riley Armstrong scored his sixth of the year 11:13 into the game as Nick Tuzzolino was able to hold the puck in at the blueline. San Francisco tied the game at one 3:05 later, but just 1:59 after that Utah made it 2-1 as Armtrong fed Bryan Cameron from behind the net for his fourth goal of the year and his first of two on the evening. Utah rookie goaltender Grant Rollheiser stopped a Utah season high of 20 of 21 shots in the first period.
The Grizzlies made it 3-1 1:43 into the second period as Bryan Cameron danced from the circle to the slot and buried his second goal of the evening and capturing his third multiple-point game during his current eight-game scoring streak. The Grizzlies made it 4-1 as Gaelan Patterson picked up a turnover and fed Evan Vossen for his first pro goal in his first pro game.
San Francisco rallied in the third period, cutting the deficit to 4-3 with 12:21 left, but Utah killed a couple of penalties late to hold the score.
Ryan Watson crashed the net and knocked in a Kory Falite rebound with 1:27 left in the game to make it 5-3 and that was the final.
Rollheiser stopped 37 of 40 shots in his first professional win.
