ECHL Announces Fine, Suspension

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Sunday announced Gwinnett's Justin Weller has been suspended indefinitely and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #161, Greenville at Gwinnett, on Nov. 17.

Weller was assessed major penalty and game misconduct for boarding under Rule #41.5 at 5:40 of the third period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Weller will miss Gwinnett's game at South Carolina today and will have a hearing with ECHL Hockey Operations on Monday.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
