Grizzlies Acquire Igor Gongalsky to Complete Earlier Trade

West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Colley announced today that the team has acquired the ECHL rights to forward Igor Gongalsky from the Greenville Road Warriors to complete an earlier trade. Gongalsky is currently with the AHL's Portland Pirates.

A familiar opponent to Grizzlies fans, Gongalsky, 24, has played in 178 games with Fresno, Stockton and Greenville. He has totaled 44 goals and 63 assists for 107 points and 365 penalty minutes in the ECHL. In 30 ECHL playoff games, the Ukraine native has added four goals and 16 assists for 20 points and 44 penalty minutes. In addition, he has played 10 AHL games with San Antonio and Portland. Prior to the season, Utah sent the ECHL rights of goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris to Greenville for David Schulz and future considerations.

Utah returns to action Friday in Ontario. Face-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. The Grizzlies open a five-game in eight-day home stand Wednesday, December 15 with Las Vegas. All games are scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m.
