Grizzles earn a 7-4 win over Tucson

Fresno's four-run first inning led the Grizzles to a 7-4 win over the Tucson Padres Friday on Opening Night at Kino Stadium.

The Grizzlies jumped ahead 4-0 in the top of the first on five hits including a two-run home run from Roger Kieschnick. Both teams scored in the second, with the Padres run coming o a bases loaded walk to pitcher Sean O'Sullivan. The at-bat was the first of O'Sullivan's professional career.

In O'Sullivan's second plate appearance, he laced a two-run double down the right field line to bring the Padres within two of the Grizzlies in the fourth. Daniel Robertson brought home the third run of the inning with a two-out RBI single up the middle.

Fresno added two more runs in the final three innings to secure the win. Grizzlies reliever Jake Dunning earned the win, while Heath Hembree saved his third game of the year. O'Sullivan pitched five innings and allowed nine hits, five earned runs and was charged with the loss.
