
Gregory Strikes out Six While Carson Collects Two Hits

St. Cloud, Minn. - The St. Cloud Rox would fall to the Duluth Huskies 2-1 Thursday night in front of a crowd of 2,104.
Reese Gregory (St. Cloud State) started on the bump for the Rox and produced another strong outing. He went 7.1 innings, striking out six batters scattering six hits.
The Rox would strike first in the fourth inning when John Sansone (Florida State University) hit a sacrifice fly after a Marcus Carson (University of Kentucky) triple.
Trevor Charpie (University of Nevada, Reno) would come in for 1.2 innings where he did not allow a win and struck out two batters. His season ERA is now down to a minuscule 0.83.
Gregory pitched one inning in the Northwoods League All-Star Game where he sent the side down in order while Charpie pitched one pitch and got one out. Austin Athmann (University of Minnesota) would hit three homeruns as the North Team would come out victorious in the Home Run Challenge.
The Rox are now 14-6 in the second half and 33-21 overall. St. Cloud leads the second half North Division standings by one and a half games over Duluth.
The Rox will travel to Duluth tomorrow as they play the Huskies at 6:35 p.m. That will finish up all the regular season games between the Rox and Huskies.
The next Rox home game will be Saturday, July 25th as they take on the Eau Claire Express. The game is scheduled for a 6:05 p.m. start but gates will open for fans at 5:05 p.m. It will be Halloween in July presented by Party City. First 400 kids 14 and under receive a candy bag for a post-game candy drop. Best costume contest, two winners will receive a new bike.
