Manuel Rivera and Anatanaer Batista combined for a four-hit shutout as the Greenville Drive completed a doubleheader sweep of the Lexington Legends with a 4-0 victory Sunday in Greenville.

The two seven-inning games were played because the series opener was rained out Saturday night.

Greenville won the opener 6-3 after Lexington had taken a 3-0 lead. Vladimir Frias' RBI double put the Drive on the board in the second inning. They added another in the third when Jeremy Hazelbaker walked, went to second on an infield out and scored on a base hit by Daniel Butler.

The Drive took the lead with two runs in the fifth inning. Chris McGuiness doubled with one out, and after Michael Almanzar struck out, Butler doubled to tie the game at 3-3. Ronald Bermudez followed with a single to score Butler with the go-ahead run. Almanzar hit a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth to close out the scoring.

Kendal Volz (3-0), who beat the Legends in Lexington last Monday, allowed two runs in the first inning and one in the second, but then held the Legends scoreless until he was relieved in the sixth inning by Jeremy Bayer. Bayer finished the game to earn his fourth save. Juan Minaya (0-3) was the starter and losing pitcher for Lexington.

In the second game, McGuiness homered over the 420-foot mark in center field with a man on in the first inning to give the Drive a 2-0 lead. Bermudez led off the fourth inning with a homer to make it 3-0. Reymond Fuentes followed with a double, went to third on an infield out, and scored on a wild pitch to close out the scoring.

Rivera (2-1) pitched the first five innings, earning the victory while striking out four and walking none. Robby Donovan (1-2) took the loss.

The two teams meet again Monday night at 7 p.m.
