
Greensboro Gets First Win in OT Thriller in Texas

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends (5-2) suffered their first home loss in the team's first overtime minutes to the Greensboro Swarm (1-6) 110-115 Friday night in Frisco.
After four lead changes, Texas jumped ahead midway through the first and built a double-digit gap before the buzzer. Greensboro tied it up four times in the second, but the home team went on an 18-2 streak for a big finish to the half. The Legends maintained the double-digit lead through most of the third, going into the final minutes up 89-78. Joe Chealey powered out 12 of his 18 points in the fourth including the game's last basket to tie it up at 108-all. In Texas' first overtime of the season, the visitors grabbed the first points and held onto the lead through the buzzer.
All five Legends' starters finished in double-digits, but Justin Jackson topped the Legends' scoring efforts with 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. Eugene Omoruyi and Loudon Love each grabbed 11 boards while combining for 38 points. Yudai Baba finished with 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists, and JaQuori McLaughlin added 13 points, 3 assists.
Vernon Carey Jr. led the game in points (27) and rebounds (14) while Joe Chealey led the assist column (13) and added 18 points. JT Thor finished with 21 points, 7 rebounds, and Scottie Lewis grabbed 17 points, 6 rebounds off the bench.
