Grasshoppers Take Down the Dash, 13-4 on Saturday Evening

GREENSBORO, NC - The Greensboro Grasshoppers take down the Winston-Salem Dash, 13-4 on Saturday, July 29. The Grasshoppers improved to 12-16 in the second half of the season while the Dash fell to 10-18. Greensboro outhit Winston-Salem 14-7 as the Dash had three mishaps.

Leading at the dish for the Grasshoppers was infielder Maikol Escotto as he went 3-5 with a home run, two RBI, and three runs scored. Luke Brown and Jack Brannigan each also recorded a home run for Greensboro.

Starting on the mound for Greensboro was righthanded pitcher Bubba Chandler as he tallied four strikeouts and gave up two hits and one run on five innings of work. Chandler recorded the win for the Grasshoppers and improved to 6-3 on the season.

Kohl Simas took the loss for the Dash and fell to 5-6 on the season.

The Grasshoppers finish its home series against the Winston-Salem Dash tomorrow, Sunday, July 30 at 2:00 PM. Come out to First National Bank Field for Family Funday Sunday at the Hoppers game.
