
Grasshoppers Overcome the BlueClaws 6-4 to Extend Its Win Streak

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Greensboro Grasshoppers defeated the BlueClaws 6-4, on Friday, May 12. The Grasshoppers moved to 20-11 on the season while the BlueClaws fell to 12-15. Jersey Shore outhit Greensboro 8-5 with three BlueClaws errors.
Starting on the mound for the Grasshoppers was lefthanded pitcher Anthony Solometo as he tallied six strikeouts and gave up four hits, three runs (two earned), and six free bases on 4.2 innings of work. Santiago Florez took the win for Greensboro and moved to 2-0 on the season. Eddy Yean tallied his first hold while Will Kobos recorded his second save.
Matt Osterberg took the loss for the BlueClaws and moved to 0-2 on the season.
Leading at the dish for Greensboro was Maikol Escotto going 2-4 with one double, two RBI, and one run scored. Hudson Head hit the only homerun of the game for the Hoppers in the top of the first inning for three RBI.
