Gorillas Sign Beeman, Host Two This Weekend

Amarillo, TX 11/5/09 - The Amarillo Gorillas have inked forward Jason Beeman, the team announced Thursday.

Beeman, 24 (7/2/1985), skated in Asia last season for the China Sharks (30 games, 15 goals, 9 assists, & 35 penalty minutes). The 5-foot 11-inch Los Angeles, California native spent his first five seasons (2001-2006) with the Tri-City Americans of the WHL, averaging 14 goals and 19 assists. Beeman has played in Texas before, skating in 66 contests with the ECHL's Texas Wildcatters in 2006-2007. He will wear jersey number 18 Friday night versus the Texas Brahmas.

Amarillo hosts the President Cup-champion Texas Brahmas Friday, November 6th (Tejano Night) and the Governor's Cup-champion Colorado Eagles & Saturday, November 7th (Rodeo Night). Both games will begin at 7:05pm CST.
