
Gorillas set to host Colorado in last game before Christmas

AMARILLO, TX â The Amarillo Gorillas will play their last home game before Christmas tomorrow night (Tuesday) when they host the Colorado Eagles at 7 p.m. at The Jungle in the Amarillo Civic Center.
The Eagles defeated the Gorillas 6-2 in their only previous meeting at the Budweiser Events Center in Fort Collins last Wednesday night. The game is sponsored by KFDA NewsChannel 10 and the first 200 fans will receive a desk or wall calendar.
The Gorillas are coming off a split of home games over the weekend where they defeated the Odessa Jackalopes 2-1 on Friday night and then a 4-1 set back to the Topeka Tarantulas on Saturday night. Brent Hughes and Derek Hahn fired goals for Amarillo on Friday night, while Shawn Degagne notched the win in goal.
Defenseman Mark DeSantis' 55-foot slap shot was the only goal for Amarillo on Saturday night. The Gorillas record stands at 10-10-2 for 22 points and remain in sole possession of third place in the Southwest Division, one point up on the Odessa Jackalopes. Amarillo has a key divisional battle on Thursday night in Lubbock against the Cotton Kings at 7 p.m.
Both games can be heard live on 1440 Am the Score beginning with the Farmer's Insurance Group Warm Up Show at 6:40 pm. Amarillo Gorillas Hockey Presented by Bank of America follows at 7 p.m. During Thursday night's second intermission, fans can tune in to hear a feature documenting some of the more unusual names in the Central Hockey League this season.
