SCORPIONS RECAP â
SAN ANGELO 6, SCORPIONS 5 (SO) â The Scorpions rallied from a 5-2 deficit less than a minute into the third period on Friday to force overtime, but the Saints scored the only two goals of the shootout for a 6-5 victory. Rookie Alexandre Piche made a sterling Scorpions debut, scoring twice and adding an assist. Randy Murphy also scored twice while Konrad McKay also tallied. Miguel Beaudry made 28 saves in goal for the Scorpions.
SCORPIONS 5, SAN ANGELO 4 (OT) â Daniel Tetrault scored with 1:52 left in overtime as the Scorpions completed another improbable comeback with a 5-4 victory at San Angelo, giving them three points out of a possible four points in the weekend series with the CHL's best home team. Randy Murphy continued his recent hot streak with two goals and an assist. Vladimir Hartinger and Alexandre Piche also scored for the Scorpions, while Shawn Legault added two assists. The game featured 122 penalty minutes between the teams, most in a Scorpions game this season, as both starting goaltenders were ejected late in the first period. Guy St. Vincent made 28 saves in relief of Miguel Beaudry to improve to 3-1-0 on the season.
TULSA 3, SCORPIONS 0 â The Oilers scored all three of their goals in the second period to post a 3-0 victory over a tired Scorpions team yesterday after the Scorpions had arrived back in town at 6 a.m. from San Angelo while the Oilers had Saturday night off. Jaroslav Cesky, Todd Marcellus and Jason Bermingham scored the Oilers goals. Miguel Beaudry stopped 33 shots in goal for the Scorpions.
SCORPIONS MATCH-UPS â
COLORADO â The road team has won all four meetings this season, as the Eagles claimed back-to-back wins at Tingley Coliseum on Dec. 10 and 11. Colorado had a four-game winning streak ended with a 2-1 loss at Wichita on Saturday, and they play at Amarillo tomorrow. Greg Pankewicz leads the Eagles with 31 points (12g-19a) in just 16 games, followed by Riley Nelson with 26 points (13g-13a). Rookie goalie Tyler Weiman leads the CHL with a 1.70 GAA and four shutouts on the season.

PICHE MAKES IMPACT â The Scorpions signed rookie forward Alexandre Piche on Wednesday, and it didn't take him long to make waves. Not only was the Rimouski, Quebec native involved in Wednesday's purse snatcher chase at the team's offices, but he made quite the debut on the ice over the weekend. In addition to a three-point performance in his first game on Friday, Piche scored the game-tying goal with 20.8 seconds left on Saturday to force overtime.
STINGERS â The Scorpions' streak of not allowing a power play goal at home ended at 55 after Tulsa scored a 5-on-3 goal late in the second period last night... Randy Murphy had a seven-game point-scoring streak ended last night, but he still has 13 points in eight games this month and is now tied for fourth in the CHL with 33 points (15g-18a)... After picking up 27 penalty minutes in Saturday's brawl at San Angelo, goalie Miguel Beaudry now has more penalty minutes this season than ten of his teammates.
