
Gorillas set for back-to-back games against CHL's best

AMARILLO, TX â One of the toughest tests of the season awaits the Amarillo Gorillas this weekend as face the Central Hockey League's hottest team the Wichita Thunder in back-to-back games.
The Gorillas will host the Thunder on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Jungle in the Amarillo Civic Center. The night is sponsored by Coor's, and it is also the annual Eveline Rivers Teddy Bear Toss. Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used Teddy Bear or Stuffed Animal to the game to throw on the ice after the Gorillas score their first goal in support of the Eveline Rivers Society so all children have a great Christmas.
The Gorillas have played very well on home ice this season and are expected to give the Thunder all they can handle in what should be an exciting contest. The game features the top CHL point getters in Jason Duda, Travis Clayton and Scott Allison and also marks the return of former Gorillas goaltender Jamie Vandespyker.
Fans can tune into the action on 1440 Am The Score, beginning with the Farmer's Insurance Group Warm Up Show at 6:40 p.m. Amarillo Gorillas hockey presented by Bank of America faces off at 7 p.m. The game can also be heard live on the world wide web at www.amarillogorillas.com and seen on www.chltv.com. Friday's game is also being taped for Maple Leaf TV and will be aired in Canada on the Boston Pizza Central Hockey League Game of the Week on Thursday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.
The Thunder and the Gorillas will race back to Wichita where they will meet on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. at Kansas Coliseum. The game will be aired on 1440 Am the Score beginning with the pre game show at 7:10 p.m., the action will follow at 7:30 p.m. Fans can tune into the game on the world wide web at www.amarillogorillas.com.
