Gordon Named MiLB Pitcher of the Month for August

BINGHAMTON, NY - The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are proud to announce that RHP Cole Gordon has been named the MiLB Pitcher of the Month Award winner in the Northeast League for the month of August.

Gordon was 4-0 and did not allow an earned run in 26.0 innings over four starts. He held opponents to a .096 batting average, allowing eight hits while striking out 30. He currently has a 31-inning scoreless streak over his last five starts dating back to July 31. Gordon did not allow more than three hits in each of his last four starts and went seven innings in three of them.

Gordon, 25, was selected by the Mets in the 32nd round of the 2019 MLB Draft out of Mississippi State.

The righthander was already named MiLB Pitcher of the Week earlier this season for the week of Aug 2-8. In addition to Gordon, the Rumble Ponies have had four other players receive MiLB weekly recognition (Mark Vientos, Josh Walker, Jake Mangum, Jose Butto) but Gordon is the first to receive the monthly honor.
