WEST SACRAMENTO, CA. - Brian Gordon set a new franchise record of 21 saves in a season as the River Cats held off the Fresno Grizzlies for the 2-1 win at Raley Field on Tuesday night.

Jemile Weeks doubled in the third and then scored on a Hiro Nakajima double. Michael Choice hit a single to center field to score Nakajima, and the River Cats led the Grizzlies 2-0.

The Grizzlies' Chris Dominguez hit a double of his own to get Fresno on the board in the sixth inning, but it wasn't enough as the Sacramento held off Fresno in game two of their final regular season home series.

Nakajima led the River Cats with an RBI and a run scored as he finished 1-for-4. Anthony Aliotti and Jemile Weeks both recorded a hit in the win, while Michael Choice went 1-for-2 with an RBI. Aliotti extended his season-high hitting streak to eight games.

Sacramento collected four hits and left 12 runners on base as they held on for the win.

River Cats' righty Travis Banwart struck out six batters and gave up one earned run off four hits in five and a half innings of work for the win. He improved his record to 10-5 this season. Sacramento's bullpen produced two innings of scoreless relief, as Hideki Okajima battled to get out of a jam in the eighth with runners in scoring position and only one out.

Okajima struck out two and walked one, while he gave up one hit, and righty Fernando Nieve struck out one batter in one inning of relief. Gordon struck out one batter in the ninth inning.

Gordon's save was his 21st of the season, setting a new franchise record for the River Cats. The previous record was 20 saves in a season, as set in 2001 by Santiago Casilla, who played under the name Jairo Garcia.

Grizzlies' starting pitcher, Justin Fitzgerald, struck out nine, but gave up two earned runs off four hits in his six-inning appearance for the loss.

Righty Arnold Leon (4-3, 4.15) will be on the mound for the River Cats in game three against the Fresno Grizzlies - the Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. Leon will be starting opposite right-hander Mitch Lively (7-5, 5.02) in their final home series, which brings the regular season at Raley Field to an end with Fan Appreciation Day on Thursday, Aug. 29.
