Reno takes win over Tucson

The Reno Aces held the Tucson Padres to four hits in a 10-1 victory Tuesday at Kino Stadium. With the loss, the Padres are 5.5 games back in the Pacific Southern Division with six games remaining in the season.

The Aces scored five runs on five hits in the third inning, including a two-run double from Juan Rivera to take the lead. Tucson scored its first run of the game in the fourth on Mike Wilson's sacrifice fly to center, cutting Reno's advantage to 5-1. Reno added two more runs in the sixth on back-to-back RBI doubles by Tuffy Gosewisch and Taylor Harbin. The Aces tacked on three in the eighth on two hits and an error by second baseman Dean Anna. Tucson committed three fielding errors Tuesday, tying a season-high. The Padres entered play with the best fielding percentage in the Pacific Coast League.

Matt Wright earned his third win for Reno with two scoreless innings of relief. Jason Lane surrendering six earned runs on nine hits in 5.1 innings of work. The left-hander also recorded seven strikeouts. Reno starter Nate Adcock pitched four hitless innings in a no decision.
