Tucson Padres News Release
The final home game in Tucson Padres history is Thursday, August 29 at 7:05 pm. Here are the details on Thursday's ceremonies and events:
Pregame: The Tucson Padres team will be introduced one by one to give fans an opportunity to applaud the Padres winning season and their outstanding effort. The Tucson Padres front office will also be introduced on the field before the game to honor their three years of dedication. Pattie Feder, the Padres Director of Merchandising and a 27-year veteran of professional baseball, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch to Padres General Manager Mike Feder.
During the Game: The Padres Budweiser Thirsty Thursday specials will apply from 6:00 - 9:00, with beverages starting at $1.00 each. There will be a silent auction on the concourse where fans can bid on the Padres game-worn jerseys. The high bidder of each jersey will go down on the field after the game to get it from that player. Numerous specials will occur throughout the game.
After the Game: Padres fans of all ages will be allowed on the field to run the bases after Thursday's game.
"Thursday will be a bittersweet day," said Padres General Manager Mike Feder. "We gave Triple-A baseball's return our best shot. We helped a lot of people and tried to be a strong asset to the community."
