Hagerstown, MD - The Hagerstown Suns (44-28) blasted four home runs, including a pair by centerfielder Brian Goodwin, to overpower the Lakewood BlueClaws (27-45), 10-8, at Municipal Stadium on Saturday night.
Goodwin enjoyed his first four-hit game of the season, smashing a pair of two-run homers to give him four RBIs on the night. Cutter Dykstra went 2-for-5, hitting the second of back-to-back homers with Goodwin in the fourth inning. Matt Skole cranked a three-run shot, his league leading his 16th of the year, and second home run in as many games.
Suns starting pitcher Bobby Hansen, Jr. (1-0) earned the victory by pitching 5.2 innings and allowing one earned run on nine hits, two walks and three strike outs. Aaron Barrett (9) halted a ninth inning rally by Lakewood, recording the final two outs of the game for his ninth save of the season.
BlueClaws starter Colin Kleven (4-6) suffered the loss, allowing seven runs over three-plus innings of work. Right fielder Kelly Dugan smacked his seventh homer of the season and finished the game 1-for-4 with two RBIs.
