Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release
Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced this morning that right-handed pitcher Drew Shetrone has been released.
Shetrone, 25, was claimed off waivers from the Joliet JackHammers on June 27. He leaves Winnipeg tied for third in the Northern League in saves with seven, but also sports a 0-6 record and 6.94 ERA this season in his time between Winnipeg and Joliet.
The Goldeyes now have 21 players on their roster, including 11 pitchers and 10 position players.
Winnipeg opens a 10-game road trip tomorrow afternoon against the Rockford RiverHawks. The trip is only nine days, but Winnipeg plays a doubleheader against the Lake County Fielders on Friday.
