Goldeyes Finalize 2016 Roster

WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Goldeyes finalized their 2016 Opening Night roster on Tuesday afternoon.

The Goldeyes will carry 23 players (the American Association maximum for 2016) when the regular season officially begins Thursday night against the Joplin Blasters at Joe Becker Stadium.

Catcher Justin Marra and right-handed pitcher Kevin Becker-Menditto cleared waivers Tuesday, and are now free agents. Additionally, the Goldeyes placed left-handed pitcher Trevor Lubking on the disabled list. Prior to Tuesday's transactions, the Goldeyes' spring training roster stood at 26 active players.

Veteran right-handed pitcher Mikey O'Brien is scheduled to pitch Thursday's season opener.

The Goldeyes' 2016 home opener is scheduled for Monday, May 30th versus the Sioux Falls Canaries.
