Gold Medalist and NC State Swimmer Ryan Held to Throw First Pitch

WHEN: TUESDAY, Aug. 30, 6:30 p.m.

WHAT: 2016 Olympic gold medalist and NC State junior Ryan Held will throw the ceremonial first pitch prior to Tuesday's 7:05 p.m. contest at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. After throwing the first pitch, Held will proceed to the first base concourse to meet with fans from 7:15-7:45 p.m.

WHO: 2016 Olympic gold medalist and NC State junior swimmer Ryan Held. The 21-year-old swam the third leg of the 4x100 meter freestyle relay at the Rio Olympics, pairing with Michael Phelps, Caeleb Dressel and Nathan Adrian to win the gold medal. Held was also a 2016 NCAA champion in the 4x100 meter relay, and is a nine-time ACC champion in various events. The Illinois native has earned 10 All-America honors over his first two years with the Wolfpack.

WHERE: Goodmon Field at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Held will meet with the media at 6:30 p.m. prior to his first pitch. Media should take the main elevator to the second floor, and proceed through the concourse to the first base dugout.
