Moosic, Pa. - As of Sunday night, the first-place SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) are officially in the 2016 Governors' Cup Playoffs. With their 3-1 win over the Rochester Red Wings, the RailRiders locked up their second straight postseason appearance, with an opportunity for a International League North Division Championship still up for grabs. The RailRiders want to pass the celebration to the fans of NEPA with an amazing, discounted deal!
For the last four regular season games this Labor Day weekend, all bleacher and NEPA Honda Dealers Homer Zone tickets will be $5 for each of the four remaining home games. There is no ticket limit to purchase. Tickets may be purchased in person at the PNC Field box office starting today and throughout the week, open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
"A great year rolls on and hopefully it ends with our second Governors' Cup," said General Manager Jeremy Ruby. "We are looking forward to having a playoff atmosphere back at PNC Field. We're hoping that these great ticket deals jump start that atmosphere a little early!"
The Labor Day weekend series starts on Friday, September 2 with the team's final fireworks show of the year, as well as a Friday Night Replica Jersey giveaway for the first 2,500 fans, presented by PNC Bank and 98.5 KRZ. Friday also features the final Legends Series appearance with Yankee great, Graig Nettles. Saturday's game features a Youth Graphic Sock giveaway for the first 1,000 kids, presented by Scranton Prep. Family Funday is set for Sunday, September 4. The home stand concludes with a mini football giveaway for the first 2,500 fans and Fan Appreciation Day on Monday, September 5.
The Governors' Cup Playoffs officially begin on September 7, as the RailRiders await their Game One destination. With a division title, the RailRiders would be home for Game Three on September 9. For more information please call (570) 969-BALL (2255) or visit swbrailriders.com.
