PORTLAND, ME - The Grand Rapids Gold (9-4) took home another road win against the Maine Celtics (5-7) after an intense contest. The Gold led throughout and by as many as 25 points. The Celtics were able to tie the game 5 times but were ultimately outmatched by the Gold's strong suit, dominating the boards 51-39, with also converting their shots from beyond the arc. Grand Rapids shot 45.5% (15-33) from the three compared to the Celtics' 31.7% (13-41).
Nik Stauskas dominated the court this afternoon with 30 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. Guard Marcus Burk recorded another 18 points and 5 rebounds. Big man Tarik Black contributed 16 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks. Matt Ryan tallied 15 points to go along with 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Manny Camper was a beast on the boards tonight, earning 14 rebounds in addition to 3 points, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. Quade Green dished out 12 assists, 3 points, and 2 rebounds. Trevon Duval added another 11 points, 4 rebound,s and 4 assists to Grand Rapids' stat line.
Boston Celtics two-way player Sam Hauser had a huge 30-point performance, in addition to 6 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Other players in double figures were Celtics two-way player Brodric Thomas (13 pts, 3 rebs, 3 blks), Chris Clemons (13 pts, 3 rebs, 2 stls), Jaysean Page (12 pts, 2 rebs, 2 assists). Denzel Valentine also added 12 rebounds, 9 points, 6 assists and 2 steals.
