Buchanan's Career Night Tops Texas

FRISCO, TX - The Memphis Hustle (4-8) used a career scoring night from Shaq Buchanan to take down the Texas Legends (6-6) 110-97 in a Sunday matinee game in Frisco.
Memphis set the tone early with a 15-0 start that would put the Legends at a double-digit deficit at the end of the first. The tides turned in the second as the Legends found their shot. Nearly doubling the visitors' output, Texas forged ahead twice before Memphis took the 50-49 edge into the locker room.
The two teams exchanged baskets and leads through the first half of the third, keeping the gap within five points. The visitors landed on the favorable side of a 74-72 break and stayed there through the remaining 12 minutes. Texas pulled within two with 2:20 on the clock, but the Hustle finished strong with 11 straight, going 5-of-6 at the line.
Carlik Jones led the Legends' efforts with 25 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. Feron Hunt grabbed the home team's only double-double with 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Shaq Buchanan led all scorers with a career-high 40 points, while adding 14 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals. Former Legend EJ Onu had 7 blocks while adding 13 points, 9 rebounds. Cameron Young tagged on 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists, and Reggie Hearn rounded out Memphis' double-digits with 18 points, 6 rebounds.
