
Goaltender Rasmus Tirronen Reassigned to AHL's Charlotte Checkers

ESTERO, FL -- Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced Monday that the Carolina Hurricanes (NHL) have reassigned goaltender Rasmus Tirronen to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Tirronen, 25, recorded a 2-0-0-0 record, a 1.50 goals-against-average and a 0.946 save percentage during his two appearances with the Everblades last week. Tirronen will return to Charlotte where he has posted a 4-2-0 record, a 3.33 goals-against average and a .873 save percentage in eight appearances this season.
The 6-3, 209-pound netminder also earned a win in his lone appearance with the Checkers last spring. The Espoo, Finland native recorded a 12-14-3 record, a 2.30 goals-against average, and a .929 save percentage during his senior campaign at Merrimack College last season. Tirronen finished his three-year collegiate career with the Warriors with a mark of 22-34-8.
The Florida Everblades return to the ice Sunday December 27th when they head to the Amway Center to take on the Orlando Solar Bears in the fourth game of the Wawa Sunshine Cup Series.
