Goaltender Cassivi named National City Mighty Ducks Player of the Month

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Cincinnati goaltender Frederic Cassivi has been named the National City Mighty Ducks Player of the Month for April and Player of the Year.

CASSIVI THE PLAYER OF THE MONTH

For the month, Cassivi went 7-2-0 in nine games with a 1.34 goals-against average, a .945 save percentage and three shutouts. He stopped 208 of the 220 shots he faced and tied the club record for most wins in one month for the second time this season (February). The 29-year-old native of Sorel, Quebec posted shutouts in three consecutive games April 8-10 and a shutout streak of 186:59 from April 6-16.

This is the second time this season Cassivi has been named the Mighty Ducks Player of the Month. He was previously named the recipient of the award in February.

CASSIVI THE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Cassivi appeared in 46 games with Cincinnati this season, posting a record of 25-18-2 with a 2.07 goals-against average, a .924 save percentage and a league-leading 10 shutouts. He set club records for best goals-against average, best save percentage, most shutouts and longest shutout streak (189:39). Cassivi became just the third goaltender in AHL history to record at least 10 shutouts in a season, joining Jason LaBarbera (2003-04) and Maxime Ouellet (2003-04).
