Goaltender Boron Claimed Off Waivers

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons, announced rookie goaltender Tim Boron (Bor-AWN) has been claimed off waivers from the Charlotte Checkers.

Boron, 24, appeared in three games with the Las Vegas Wranglers this season, tallying a 2-1-0 record, 2.14 goals-against-average and .924 save percentage. The six-foot, 177-pound goaltender made a season-high 37 saves for Las Vegas in a 5-1 win at Phoenix on November 11.

Last season, the Winnipeg, Manitoba native appeared in 18 games with the Central Hockey League's Colorado Eagles, posting a 13-4-0 record, 2.91 goals-against-average and .909 save percentage. Boron spent three years (2003-06) of his college hockey career at St. Cloud State University (NCAA), posting a lifetime 15-27-5 record, .897 save percentage and 3.05 goals-against-average with one shutout.

In last year's CHL playoffs, Boron helped guide the Eagles to the CHL championship, appearing in 10 playoff games while tallying a 6-3 record with three shutouts, a 1.79 goals-against-average and .944 save percentage.
