Philadelphia Union News Release
CHESTER, Pa. - The Philadelphia Union defeated the New York Red Bulls 1-0 in extra time to advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals of the Audi 2021 MLS Cup Playoffs. The first half ended deadlocked at zero. In the second half, the biggest chance came from Kacper Przybylko in the 82nd minute that went just high of the bar from point blank range. The Union were unable to break the tie in regulation. In the last minute of extra time, center back Jakob Glesnes gave the Union the winning goal off a shot from well outside of the box. The goal is the latest game winner in MLS Cup Playoffs history (120+3'), as well as the latest goal in any MLS competition. Andre Blake made one save in the extra time victory, saving two shots in a clean sheet win. It is Blake's first ever clean sheet in a playoff match.
The Union will host the winner of the Nashville SC vs. Orlando City match on November 28, time TBA.
