DULUTH, GA - The Gwinnett Gladiators wrapped up their season series with the Florida Everblades Sunday at the Arena at Gwinnett Center, losing their fourth straight game and fifth in their last six by a score of 5-3.

The Glads are still five points out of the playoff race with only six games left in the 2010-11 season.

The Gladiators (29-30-7) got on the board first at the 8:54 mark in the first period. Matt Francis found a wide open Michael Forney off the far post with a cross-ice feed for Forney's 18th of the season. Patrick Knowlton also added an assist, his first career point as a pro since joining Gwinnett from Sacred Heart University on March 17th.

It remained 1-0 at the end of one with Gwinnett outshooting Florida 16-2. It took Florida over 16 minutes to pick up their first shot of the period.

Just 28 seconds into the second period the Blades (35-27-4) drew even with a goal from Brad Snetsinger. Florida took the lead at the 8:47 mark with a shot coming off the stick of Matt Beca to make it 2-1.

Dustin Cameron brought Gwinnett back with a powerplay tally at the 14:34 mark to tie the score at two. Francis and Forney assisted on Cameron's eighth.

With only 32 seconds left in the period the Everblades regained their lead when Alexandre Imbeault snuck one past Chris Carrozzi to make it 3-2 at the end of two.

Justin Milo brought Gwinnett even 2:17 into the third, putting in a rebound in the crease on the 5-on-3 advantage with Paul Flache and Pat Galivan assisting.

Despite several chances in the third the Blades again pulled away late. Mathieu Roy potted two goals in the second half of the third, one coming at the 14:37 mark and one with just 32 seconds remaining, to seal a 5-3 Florida win.

Jaroslav Janus stopped 34 of 37 shots after being assigned to Florida from the AHL the day of the game.

Gwinnett is next in action on Wednesday, March 23rd against the Reading Royals at 7:05 pm.
