
Gladiators Training Camp Roster Set

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced their training camp roster for the 2007-08 season today. The team's first on-ice session for training camp is scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, October 5th at 12:10 p.m. at the Ice Forum in Duluth.
The Gladiators training camp roster is highlighted by the return of the 2005-06 ECHL MVP Jeff Campbell. He began last season with the Gladiators appearing in 11 games before being called up to the Grand Rapids Griffins where he posted 31 points in 61 games in the American Hockey League.
Campbell led the Gladiators to the 2006 Kelly Cup Finals as he lead the team in scoring during the regular season with 83 points. He had 30 goals with the Gladiators for the second consecutive season that year while his 53 assists ranked second on the team.
In addition to Campbell, the Gladiators training camp roster includes six players who have played with the organization in previous years. While six rookies who comprise the Gladiators training camp roster are rookies.
The Gladiators training camp roster opens with 18 players. The complete roster is included below. In addition, Scott Mifsud and Matt York have been suspended by the team.

Opening Day in the ECHL for the 20th Anniversary Season will be Oct. 18 when the Johnstown Chiefs host the Wheeling Nailers at Cambria County War Memorial in a rematch of Game 7 from the first-ever ECHL Finals.
Celebrating its 20th Anniversary as the Premier 'AA' Hockey League in 2007-08, the ECHL began in 1988-89 with five teams in three states and has grown to be a coast-to-coast league that will have 25 teams in 17 states and British Columbia in 2007-08. The 25 teams includes the Mississippi (Biloxi) Sea Wolves, who return after missing two seasons in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and the expansion Elmira (N.Y.) Jackals. The ECHL will play 900 games beginning Oct. 18 and concluding Apr. 5.
