Gladiators Sign Affiliation Agreement with Chicago Blackhawks

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have signed an affiliation agreement with the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL to serve as the ECHL affiliate of the Blackhawks. Chicago's previous ECHL agreement with the Fresno Falcons ended when Fresno ceased operations on Dec. 22. The Gladiators will continue to serve as the ECHL affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers.

During the Gladiators first five season, Gwinnett has fielded 92 call ups to the American Hockey League and the National Hockey League. Players from the Gladaitors have been called up to 19 different American Hockey League teams and one National Hockey League team while Gwinnett has served as the ECHL affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers.

Gwinnett saw former goaltender Adam Munro, who began the season with Gwinnett, called up to the AHL befored being called up and appearing in action with the Chicago Blackhawks during the 2003-04 season.
