Atlanta Gladiators News Release
DULUTH, Ga. - Tyler Parks turned aside all 30 shots he faced as the Atlanta Gladiators (21-10-2-0) shutout the Savannah Ghost Pirates (10-17-5-0) for the second time in eight days, Sunday evening at home.
First Star: Tyler Parks (ATL) - 30 saves
Second Star: Tyler Kobryn (ATL) - 1 goal
Third Star: Derek Topatigh (ATL) - 1 goal
Atlanta struck early in the game to jump out to a 1-0 lead (17:40). Tyler Kobryn took advantage of a miscommunication between the Ghost Pirates defense to score his third goal of the season.
The Gladiators doubled their lead just over ten minutes later to build a 2-0 advantage over Savannah (8:01). Bode Wilde took a cross-ice pass from Kaid Oliver and sent the puck into the net for the tally.
Derek Topatigh found the back of the net early in the second period to put Atlanta up 3-0 (19:10). Topatigh tried to center a pass in front of the Ghost Pirates net, but it went off the skate of a Savannah player and bounced past the goaltender for Topatigh's fifth goal of the season.
Despite facing a combined 24 shots in the third period both goaltenders stood tall to keep it a 3-0 game.
Tyler Parks made 30 saves to secure the victory for Atlanta, Isaiah Saville stopped 36 shots in the loss for Savannah.
