WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Edmonton Oilers have returned defenseman Tom Gilbert on loan to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, it was announced on Saturday.

Gilbert, 23, made his National Hockey League debut on January 10 against the San Jose Sharks. He was scoreless and plus-1 while appearing in two games with the Oilers.

The Bloomington, MN native ranks tied for 20th among AHL defensemen with 20 points (3+17) in 33 games with the Penguins.
