Tim Kraus scored a pair of goals including the game-winner Saturday night in a 5-3 win for the Vancouver Giants over the Chilliwack Bruins at Prospera Centre.
Mitch Czibere, Jonathon Blum, and Kyle Lamb had the other Giants goals while Dustin Slade picked up the win in net.
Mark Santorelli, Partik Bhungal, and Ken Petkau replied for the Bruins as netminder Alex Archibald suffered the loss in goal.
The Giants out-shot the Bruins 36-24 on a night which saw the Giants conclude the WHL pre-season with a record of 7-0. Last year, the Giants went 8-0 in the exhibition season.
Vancouver will open defence of their WHL title Saturday September 23 at home against the Portland Winterhawks. That night, the Giants will be raising their 2006 B.C. Division, Western Conference, and WHL Championship banners to the rafters of the Pacific Coliseum. Game time is 7:00pm.
