Giants Drop Final Game of the Season 5-2 to Kelowna

KELOWNA, BC - The Kelowna Rockets scored 13:51 into the second period to break a 2-all tie en route to a 5-2 win over the Vancouver Giants Saturday night at Prospera Place.

Myles Bell scored to put the Rockets up 3 -2 and Tyson Baillie and Zach Franko scored for Kelowna in the third.

Dalton Sward and Jakob Stukel scored for Vancouver.

The loss was the last Western Hockey League game for Giants' Captain Wes Vannieuwenhuizen, and fellow over-agers Jason Trott and Brendan Rouse.

The game was also Head Coach Don Hay's 1,000th regular season WHL game as a coach.

Giants' goalie Jared Rathjen faced 36 shots on the night.

The Giants killed off 6 penalties and had 31 shots on goal.
