Calgary, AB - The Kootenay Ice edged the Calgary Hitmen 5-4 Saturday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Calgary, with wins in six of their last seven games, closes the 2012-13 regular season with a 46-21-1-4 record.

Brady Brassart scored a pair of goals for Calgary, while Calder Brooks and Zane Jones each added a single marker in the loss. Hitmen forwards Jake Virtanen and Greg Chase each recorded two helpers.

Jaedon Descheneau (2g, 1a), Jordyn Boyd (2g) and Sam Reinhart (1g, 1a) each had multi-point efforts for Kootenay.

Rookie netminder Mack Shields made 21 saves in the loss.

The Hitmen will open the 2013 WHL Playoffs against the Swift Current Broncos (36-29-3-4) on Thursday, March 21 and Friday, March 22. Both games are 7:00 p.m. starts at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
