Gentzler Loaned to Toledo While Two Return

MACON, GA- The Macon Mayhem and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Kerr announced today that forward/defenseman Daniel Gentzler has been loaned to the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL. As Gentzler heads to Toledo, forward Collin MacDonald and defenseman Nick Grasso have been recalled from loan to the Indy Fuel.

Gentzler is the sixth different Mayhem player to be called up to the ECHL so far this season. He joins his Mayhem teammates Garrett Bartus (Fort Wayne Komets), Jordan Ruby (South Carolina Stingrays), and John Siemer (Quad City Mallards) in the ECHL. This season for Macon, the 26-year-old from Hermosa Beach, CA has played 24 games- scoring six goals and tallying 11 assists. Last season, Gentzler tallied one assist and one fight in seven games on loan to the Elmira Jackals.

MacDonald, 24, has played seven games for the Indy Fuel since being called up on December 27th. His trip to Indy was his second loan to the ECHL of the season, as he previously played two games with the Florida Everblades- recording one assist. For Macon this year, the 6-2, 205-pound forward from West Milford, NJ has played 18 games- scoring seven goals and recording 10 assists.

Grasso was loaned to Indy on January 5th- playing three games for the Fuel. In his three games, the 28-year-old native of Smithtown, NY recorded no points, but was plus-one. In 22 games prior to his loan, the 6-1, 185-pound defenseman scored four goals and six assists, while recording a plus-nine rating.

The next Mayhem home game is Saturday, January 21st at 7:35 PM against the Knoxville Ice Bears. The team will be hosting 90's Night and College Night for that game, where fans will be able to purchase $2 Miller Lite drafts. College students can purchase $10 tickets with a valid college ID, as well. Single game tickets are on sale through the Macon Coliseum Box Office, and group tickets are available through the Macon Mayhem Front Office.
