RiverKings Acquire Daae and Move Players off of IR

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- The RiverKings' Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced today the acquistion of forward Austin Daae and activation of players Brant Sherwood and Matt Harrington from the 14-Day IR.

Daae, 23, comes to the RiverKings after playing three years in SPHL with the Fayetteville FireAntz, Macon Mayhem, and Louisana IceGators. The 6-foot-0, 180-pound forward spent the current season in the Federal Hockey League (FHL) with teams such as the Waterton Wolves and the Port Huron Prowlers. The Estevan, Saskatchewan native tallied 16 goals and 19 assists in just 28 games this year.

Harrington, 26, appeared in 22 games this season before suffering an injury. The 5-foot-11, 194-pound center earned 10 points (four goals and six assists) with a +1 rating prior to placement on IR. The North Port, Florida native is in his second season with RiverKings while amassing 26 points (13 goals and 13 assists) in 46 games.

Sherwood, 25, returns to the RiverKings after being placed on the 14-Day IR. The 6-foot, 171-pound forward appeared in 19 games this season while collecting four goals and five assists with a +1 rating. The Rochester, New York native spent his rookie (2015-2016) season in the FHL with the Berlin River Drivers amassing 38 points (10 goals and 38 assists) in 33 games.

The team continues their season tonight against the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs in Virginia at 6:05 p.m. For live streaming of the game, a watch party will be held at Old Style Bar-B-Q in Olive Branch.
